Creepify Your Lair By Adding Spooky Bats This Halloween

Today I want to talk about some home decorating tips for Halloween. Kind of random? Maybe. But this is a blog about “Daily Snippets Of Everyday Living”, right?

Bats Flying In The Night SkyAnd today, you’re daily snippet is about bats…

You know, those creepy furry things with the flip-flappy wings and the rabies (not always, but sometimes) and the fang-like teeth that echolocate and stuff.

I’m not going to talk about decorating your home with real bats for Halloween. That would just be weird. Sure, it’s creepy too, but still weird and not something you probably want to do. Where would you get the bats anyway?

Of course, if your home is already infested with bats, then no need to read this article. You already have the perfect living, breathing Halloween decoration and adding spooky bat decorations would only be a downgrade.

For the rest of us who want to make our house a little creepier for Halloween, spooky bat decorations are a great choice.

Way cuter than your typical bat!

As you probably already know, bats have been associated with horror lore for…well…forever. Those little eerie eyes, the dark shadowy appearance in the night sky, sharp teeth, and buddy-buddy relationship with vampires make them a perfect candidate to haunt Halloween night.

When it comes to decorating your home, there are a lot of great bat decorations on the market. For example, there are many bat stickers and decals you can quickly add to walls and windows. There are hanging bats you can dangle from the ceiling in the dark. These are perfect for haunted houses and scaring the bejesus out of people.

Just don’t forget where they are if you wake up in the middle of the night for a potty run. Trust me, bumping into one of those in pitch blackness when you’re half asleep doesn’t turn out well.

There are also things like bat key holders, plush bats, animated bats, and all sorts of cool bat accessories you can use to decorate your home for Halloween.

Newspapercat.org has a nice article on some of the best Halloween bat decorations out there. At the end, they’ve also posted some good DIY bat decoration videos. By taking some of their ideas, you can easily batify (not a word? Sure it is 😉 ) your home by October 31st.
